President Pendarovski Comments on Several Topics

President Stevo Pendarovski stated in an interview for “Topic of the Day” on Sitel TV that M-NAV needs to undergo serious changes, in light of the recent incidents that took place there.

“This is a critical infrastructure and we must not allow it to be handled by people with unsuitable qualification, or even more to tolerate physical incidents there. I must say that when the incident occurred, several ambassadors, as well as NATO representatives, contacted me in order to ask whether the Macedonian airspace is safe for planes of NATO,” Pendarovski said.

Asked whether he will run for a second mandate at the upcoming presidential election, Pendarovski said that he will make his final decision about this mater around the second half of February.

Discussing the development of the investigation over the double murder of Vanja Gjorcevska (14) and Pance Zezovski (74), President Pendarovski said that the extradition of Ljupco Palevski from Turkiye to North Macedonia is more than certain. The President also addressed criticism over the situation with the issuing of new personal identification documents for the citizens.

“It is absurd for the citizens to be left waiting before the counters of the Interior Ministry for hours. The thing can be easily resolved with minor interventions to one or two laws and prolong the validity of the IDs and passports for couple of months, but it is up to the government to imitate those processes,” Pendarovski said.
