President Pendarovski Meets US Ambassador Aggeler

On Tuesday, President Stevo Pendarovski held a meeting with US Ambassador Angela Aggeler. They discussed North Macedonia’s EU integration process in the context of the completed screening process and the recent decisions by the Council of the EU.

“In that regard, they agreed it was necessary for the commitment to EU integration to continue, considering that through the EU membership negotiations process, a positive transformation of democratic capacities of societies, opportunities for greater economic prosperity, exchange of services and goods, as well as greater mobility of the population for education and professional development, would be enabled,” Pendarovski’s Cabinet said in the press-release.

Views were exchanged also on the state of affairs in the region, as well as on the security events in the broader region, the war in Ukraine and developments in the Middle East. Pendarovski voiced satisfaction with the stable and dynamic North Macedonia-US friendship, highlighting that North Macedonia’s society and citizens especially appreciated US support.

In that regard, he voiced conviction that US support would continue in the period ahead as a guarantee of the region’s peace, and stability.
