Deep reforms are needed within the UN as a response to global challenges, President Gordana Siljanovska assessed in her address to the Summit of the Future.
Bold undertakings, she explained, are impossible if there are no deep reforms, strengthened multilateralism, as well as and greater transparency and inclusion, in the decision-making process, a developed mechanism of checks and balances in the relations between the Secretary-General, Security Council, and General Assembly, as well as resolve and efficiency in dealing with the enormous threats against peace, sustainable development, and human rights.
According to the President, the International Court of Justice must get a stronger role while its verdicts must become mandatory for all.
