President Siljanovska Davkova Discusses Topics Related to EU Path and Bulgaria in Interview

In an interview with Telma, on Thursday, regarding the comments by the Enlargement Commissioner, Marta Kos, on North Macedonia as a “sad story” on the EU path, President Gordana Siljanovska Davkova said the country hadn’t written that story itself.

“When one faces obstacles non-stop and when someone believes obstacles can be overcome through constitutional changes, with a constitution being the most internal act of a country, a law above laws, a societal charter, that’s then problematic”, she noted.

Regarding the matter of delayed effect of the constitutional changes, the President stated that the stand of the European Council’s President, Antonio Costa, who she’d met earlier that day, was that the proposal was conceived excellently, but Bulgaria didn’t accept it.
