President Gordana Siljanovska-Davkova once again provoked negative comments, this time from the domestic public on social networks, after she laid a wreath at the Santa Maria Maggiore Basilica in Rome at the grave of St. Cyril, which was decorated with a red tape writing “President Gordana Siljanovska-Davkova” and picture of the state’s flag, not including the name of the country at all.
Criticism came from many citizens on social networks, as well as from SDSM member and Defence Minister Slavjanka Petrovska.
“For them, Macedonia has no name, it’s simply ‘our state’. This is clear example of trampling over one’s identity, by refusing to use the state’s name at all,” Petrovska wrote on Facebook.
