On the sidelines of the South-East European Cooperation Process (SEECP) Summit in Sofia on Wednesday, President Siljanovska Davkova met with Bulgarian counterpart Iotova. After the meeting, Siljanovska Davkova said the constitutional changes were not the only condition for lifting the veto on the EU path, adding that Bulgaria also had conditions related to the protocols linked to the History Commission.
The delegation led by the President, which included also Foreign Minister Mucunski, presented North Macedonia’s positions and views, according to Siljanovska Davkova. She added that it had particularly emphasized the obligation of all countries that were members of both the EU and the Council of Europe (CoE) to respect the rulings of the European Court of Human Rights, since said rulings applied to everyone and all CoE members had judges in Strasbourg.
It was also pointed out, according to North Macedonia’s President, that representatives of the two countries should meet and talk more frequently, no matter how much it might sometimes seem that it will not yield a result.
