In the frames of the Aqaba Process Balkans III forum in Sofia, President Gordana Siljanovska Davkova met her Bulgarian counterpart, Rumen Radev.
The meeting focused on the Kocani fire and Skopje’s EU path. More frequent meetings are needed, the Presidents assessed. Siljanovska Davkova said compromises were possible, stressing that she expected a step forward in that regard.
“Both agreed that more frequent communication between Bulgarian and Macedonian politicians, but also scientists, school and faculty students, professors, cultural activists, journalists, and other categories and actors would deepen and solidify mutual trust, bring down prejudice, and had a multiple benefit for citizens.
Despite differences in identifying potential solutions for a way out of our EU integration blockade, they concluded they would continue to discuss with good intentions, determined to overcome the problem”, North Macedonia’s President’s Cabinet said in the press-release.
