On Tuesday, President Gordana Siljanovska Davkova met with Greek Ambassador Sophia Philippidou.
There was a discussion on the overall bilateral relations between the two countries, as well as on the potentials and opportunities to advance cooperation in the function of building good-neighbourliness founded on mutual trust and understanding, the President’s Cabinet said in the press-release.
In that regard, Siljanovska Davkova expects Athens to support the enlargement policy and Skopje’s EU ambitions.
The Prespa Agreement and its implementation were discussed as well, with the President highlighting the importance of the deal being consistently implemented by both sides.
“At the meeting, the President reaffirmed commitments to further advancing the partnership and honest friendship with Greece. She highlighted the good cooperation in the area of defence, emphasising also the importance of strengthening economic cooperation, trade exchange, infrastructure connectivity, as well as cooperation in the field of education, culture, and tourism, as challenges on which we should focus together in the interest of the well-being of the two countries’ peoples and them getting closer,” the Cabinet added.
