Despite the clear stands by the new Bulgarian government that there will be no renegotiations on the French proposal, North Macedonia’s state leadership has still fostered optimism.
On Tuesday, President Gordana Siljanovska Davkova stated that the Friends of the Western Balkans group was actively working on the case. According to her information, there are several creative proposals that could result in some clusters being opened.
Also on Tuesday, PM Hristijan Mickoski, too, stated that the country remained committed to the EU process. He expects Foreign Minister Timco Mucunski to meet Bulgarian counterpart Georg Georgiev on the sidelines of the Munich Security Conference.
