On Wednesday, President Stevo Pendarovski said he wasn’t thinking about another presidential term. However, later that day, his Cabinet further clarified his stand, saying that it was not a new position by the President, adding nonetheless that it was early for a decision on whether he would be part of the presidential race.
The final decision, according to the Cabinet, will be made depending on political and citizen support. Pendarovski himself afterwards said no normal person would in the current times think about elections.
There are also speculations that Interior Minister Oliver Spasovski and the former deputy leader of SDSM, Radmila Sekerinska, are among the potential candidates of the ruling party.
When it comes to VMRO-DPMNE, the rating of around 10 candidates is being measured. The most serious options are MP Gordana Siljanovska- Davkova and professor ex-VMRO-DPMNE parliamentarian Aleksandar Spasenovski, Sitel reported.
