The reactions to Gordana Siljanovska Davkova’s non-use of the constitutional name during the swearing-in ceremony, to VMRO-DPMNE leader Hristijan Mickoski’s stand on the use of word ‘Macedonia’, presented on Thursday, and, in general, to the Prespa Agreement’s implementation have continued.
Greek PM Kyriakos Mitsotakis, in an interview with public broadcaster ERT, said it would be made absolutely clear that no progress on Skopje’s “long march” to EU membership could be achieved if there was no absolute respect for the Prespa deal.
Also, in an interview with the Thessaloniki-based Makedonia weekly, Mitsotakis urged North Macedonia’s President, Gordana Siljanovska Davkova to avoid “similar illegal and provocative” choices.
On the other hand, SYRIZA leader Stefanos Kasselakis has continued to criticise the Greek PM, saying he owes former party leader Alexis Tsipras and ex-Greek Foreign Minister Nikos Kotzias an apology.
