Alton Buland, Principal Director for European and NATO Policy in the Office of the Secretary of Defence, asked whether it was serious for PM Hristijan Mickoski, as a leader of a NATO country, to avoid using the official name of his country, said in an interview with VoA Macedonian that the US was a strong supporter of the Prespa Agreement.
“I will have to defer some of the broader political questions and diplomatic questions to our US State Department, but I will say that the United States has been a strong proponent and supporter of the Prespa Agreement and that we always encourage our Allies and partners to adhere to agreements and to leave bilateral disputes and disagreements outside of the NATO Alliance to ensure that there’s cooperation and regional stability in your area,” he noted.
