On Monday, Health Minister Ilir Demiri urged patience regarding the general strike started by private residents.
“Until 2017, they had had no income. I am not saying that the current income level is enough. I want them to be at the level of public health residents. However, that requires budgeting, which cannot be done before the elections,” he stressed.
Demiri said he would achieve a solution to the matter through a Budget rebalance after the elections.
The same day, representatives of the residents were invited to a meeting with the Government, which will need to decide at today’s session whether it will sign off on a guarantee for higher salaries.
