On Wednesday, following media reports about searches within the Interior Ministry during which official documentation from offices of chiefs and employees of multiple organisational units was being seized, the Prosecutor’s Office confirmed there were activities.
“Upon an order from a public prosecutor of the Skopje Basic Public Prosecutor’s Office, the Interior Ministry is carrying out activities in a pre-investigative procedure in a case concerning abuse and agreeing between economic operators and employees of the Interior Ministry’s General and Common Affairs Department over a conducted public procurement process within police.
So far, 16 locations have been searched upon an order issued by a judge in the previous procedure, upon a request from the public prosecutor. Considering the stage the procedure is at, we’re currently not able to share more details”, the Office said.
