Racket Case Convict Jovanovski’s Prison Sentence Reduced to Five Years

Bojan Jovanovski’s prison sentence in the Racket case has been reduced from nine to five years by the Court of Appeals. That means that Jovanovski will be a free man in several months.

Judges have made the decision citing new circumstances regarding the convict’s health condition. In the case, Jovanovski was initially sentenced to nine years for accepting a reward for unlawful influence and money laundering.

The trial also saw former Special Prosecutor Katica Janeva sentenced to seven years in prison. Jovanovski is currently not behind bars, that is, he’s using a furlough measure enabling him to get treatment. In the case, former Special Prosecutor Janeva was sentenced to seven years for abuse of office.
