During a police operation against a criminal gang dealing drugs in Skopje, Rade Trajkovski (aka Shtekli) has been arrested. As the Interior Ministry said on Sunday, 21 locations in the capital and Gevgelija were searched.
According to initial information, Trajkovski was arrested near a hotel in the Gevgelija region while he was attempting to escape. During the searches, 325,000 denars and 3,995 euros in cash, four cars, 12 mobile phones, one gun, 22 bullets, 22 digital weighing scales, a VCR, a USB stick, and other items were found.
The group consisting of 14 members, according to the Interior Ministry, would deal drugs for a longer period of time. There’s reasonable suspicion that the organiser, Stekli, through the members, distributed and sold narcotics directly to users on the streets. All 14 members will be charged.
Detention measure proposals have been issued. Three of the suspects are at large, while one is already in detention. The investigation covers also a police officer suspected of being a mole.
Investigation sources have told the Skopje1 portal that the person in question is Goran Angelov (aka Bapco), chief of a sector of illicit drug and firearms trafficking. According to unofficial information, he’s not been arrested, but his mobile device has been taken away.
