Reactions to Dodik’s Speech at St Sava Day Event Continue

Asked to comment on the speech by the President of Republika Srpska, backlisted Milorad Dodik, at the event in Skopje marking St Sava Day, PM Hristijan Mickoski said on Tuesday he hadn’t expected someone would exploit the academy by sending such messages.

“Regarding the content of the speech concerning anti-EU, anti-NATO, and so on, I refute it categorically and absolutely disagree”, the PM said.

The event was for the 18th year in a row organised by the organisational board of the Serbian Cultural Centre, chaired by Deputy PM and Intercommunity Relations Minister Ivan Stoilkovic.

He said that politicians that had attended the event were legitimately elected representatives of Serbs, adding that he would not give up on the good relations with them.

However, Party of Democratic Action (SDA) of [North] Macedonia said there had been a series of diplomatic scandals and provocations during the marking of St Sava Day. It too criticised Dodik’s speech and also asked why during the Stoilkovic-Dodik meeting, held at the former’s Ministry, the flag of one Bosnia and Herzegovina entity had been present, without the national flag of the country.

“That represents support for Dodik’s separatist policy”, it noted.
