Reactions to the escape of former KLA member Blerim Ramadani from house arrest have continued.
According to VLEN, Ramadani shouldn’t even have been arrested in the first place, while he spent a long time in detention and under house arrest. DUI’s stand is that with its arrest of a former KLA member, the government has shown that is a servant of Serbia.
That country’s Interior Minister, Ivica Dacic, however, described the escape as scandalous and urged an explanation from North Macedonia’s authorities.
Asked about the matter, PM Hristijan Mickoski said he wouldn’t comment on court decisions.
When it comes to the issue of how the escape will impact relations with Belgrade, he stressed that he was firm in his intention to build good-neighbourly relations with all neighbouring countries.
According to Faton Klinaku, acting head of the Organisation of War Veterans of the Kosovo Liberation Army (KLA), Ramadani escaped because, in his view, North Macedonia’s judicial organs had decided to issue again a detention measure against him in order to extradite him to Serbia.
