Reactions to Grubi Escape Continue

According to SDSM, the officer charged in the case concerning the escape of ex-Deputy PM Artan Grubi, B.J. had been transferred, upon a request from Interior Minister Pance Toskovski, to the Blace crossing several weeks prior to the escape, on 24 November.

“Was this man transferred to the Blace crossing precisely in a premeditated manner in order to execute something Toskovski needed? According to the information, in the previous period, too, this officer had been often promoted and transferred precisely by VMRO-DPMNE. He also has a history of offences in the workplace”, the opposition party’s Spokesperson, Bogdanka Kuzeska, said on Friday.

Toskovski, however, had previously stated that he didn’t know the officer personally, nor had he signed off on a decision to transfer him. PM Hristijan Mickoski, too, adamantly rejected all suspicions that there was some political deal in order for Grubi to be able to exit the country without any problem.
