North Macedonia’s Government said on Tuesday that the initiative for co-sponsorship of the Srebrenica draft-resolution hadn’t been discussed at a session.
Foreign Minister Bujar Osmani, when he had made the statement the previous day, added that he didn’t expect the co-sponsorship to negatively impact relations with Serbia.
“We condemn genocide and ask for the killing of over 8,000 civilians to be marked,” he stated.
The Democratic Party of Serbs in Macedonia has reacted to Osmani’s initiative, accusing him of exploiting his position as Minister over an issue that can be a personal or party stand.
On the other hand, the Bosnian Democratic Union has supported the Foreign Minister. Previously, Osmani’s initiative had sparked fierce reactions in Serbia.
