SDSM leader Dimitar Kovacevski said on Tuesday that his party supported the proposal for citizens with personal documents containing the previous constitutional name of the country that hadn’t expired to be able to vote. As he pointed out, the proposal has been discussed since as early as the end of 2023.
“We will support it and there have already been talks. The working groups working on the Electoral Code have since the end of 2023 been working on a solution for there to be a provision enabling all citizens to exercise their right to vote,” the SDSM leader stressed, adding that there were approximately 100,000 citizens with such documents that had to be enabled to vote.
