SDSM to Elect New Leader on 30 June

The executive committee of SDSM resumed on Monday the session it started on 23 May concerning the organization of intra-party elections for new management, after party leader Dimitar Kovacevski resigned from the leader position.

At the session, the executive committee authorized the central electoral commission within the party to start the preparations for the intra-party elections, which are set to take place on 30 June.

Kovacevski himself attended the session, and upon entry in the party headquarters, he told journalists that he does not intend to run for party leader.

Party member Jovan Mitreski also said that he does not intend to run for the party leader position. Previously, Jovan Despotovski, Stefan Bogoev and Slavjanka Petrovska demonstrated interest to run for the position of leader of SDSM.
