SEECP Summit: Siljanovska Davkova and Counterparts Hold Press-Conference

After the end of the South East Europe Cooperation Process (SEECP) Summit of Heads of State and Government in Skopje, on Thursday, President Gordana Siljanovska Davkova and her counterparts, Montenegro’s Jakov Milatovic and Albania’s Bajram Begaj, whose country is the new holder of the SEECP presidency, held a press-conference.

“We’re aware there is enlargement fatigue, but there is even greater wait fatigue. Therefore, in the capacity of SEECP chairs, I encourage European partners to remain consistent, credible, and principled towards the European idea and towards the great vision about a united and open continent,” she stated.

According to Milatovic, “it’s important for us to stay the course of democratic development and the rule of law because only that way can our societies progress in the opportunity being provided by the woken-up enthusiasm and new momentum in Brussels for enlargement,” he stressed.

His Albanian counterpart, Begaj, said that his country, as the holder of the presidency, would remain a proactive supporter of regional cooperation.
