On Monday, Afrim Gashi’s attempt to unblock the Social Policy Committee failed. European Front MP Beycan Ilyas refused to head that day’s session after the Speaker had appointed him following the resignation by the ex-Chair, Ilire Dauti.
He said that he was not able to attend sessions of working bodies and plenary ones due to an illness of a family member. However, the MP added that even if he had been able to attend, he would have probably not accepted Gashi’s decision because he had expected to be at least consulted.
Ilyas believes that delegating an MP to head each session separately will not solve the problem.
