Sport Vouchers Case Trial: First Hearing Postponed for 9 July

The first hearing in the case concerning the Youth and Sport Agency’s sport vouchers, which was supposed to start on Thursday, was postponed for 9 July because the principal defendant, Darko Kaevski, former head of the Agency, didn’t show up.

His lawyer, Petre Silegov, told the Criminal Court his client was receiving domestic treatment following a tendon surgery. Among the other defendants in the case is another former head of the institution, Naumce Mojsovski.

The bill of indictment against the 12 persons concerns abuse of official position and unscrupulous operation within the service. Prosecutor Lidija Raicevic said the financial damage caused in the case exceeded five million euros.
