The trial over the Sport Vouchers case started on Tuesday. The bill of indictment against Former Youth and Sport Agency heads Darko Kaevski and Naumche Mojsoski and 10 other people concerns abuse of official position and unscrupulous operation within the service.
According to prosecutors, the financial damage caused in the case amounts to five million euros.
Kaevski and Mojsovski will try to use testimonies by several university professors, Gordana Lazetic, Borce Davitkovski and Lazar Nanev, to prove they haven’t done anything illegal.
Prosecutor Lidija Raicevic, however, asked why and in which capacity they had been summoned to testify. Kaevski came to the Criminal Court wearing a leg splint as a result of his surgery.
