The Monastery of St. Jovan Bigorski issued an official reaction against the Vevcani Carnival organisers, against one of the masks that included men dressed as Jesus Christ carrying crosses made out of cases of beer.
“We must remind about an event several years ago, when there were masks that offended the feelings of the people of the Muslim faith, after which the local self-government of Vevcani established a practice in which masks that offend the religious feelings of the people shall be avoided. Henceforth, we demand apology from the organisers of the carnival, as well as a promise that similar situations shall be avoided in future,” writes the reaction of the Monastery of St. Jovan Bigorski.
