Asked whether Hristijan Mickoski’s use of the constitutional name abroad and the name ‘Macedonia’ domestically meant he was trying to create a false impression that he adhered to the Prespa Agreement, the US State Department’s press service told VoA Macedonian on Saturday that the PM-designate’s announcement that he would use the constitutional name in official contexts was in line with the Agreement.
The Department also reiterated the importance of respecting the Agreement, describing it as a historic achievement in terms of unlocking security benefits in South and East Europe, adding that the US would work with all sides to maintain the deals’ benefits.
