Statute of Limitations for Mijalkov Expire in Titanic 2 Case

The Criminal Code changes have impacted another court process. On Tuesday, the Court of Appeals rejected the charge against ex-secret police chief Saso Mijalkov in the Titanic 2 case due to expiration of the statute of limitations.

When it comes to the other defendants, DPA leader Menduh Thaci and ex-State Election Commission (SEC) members Bedredin Ibrahimi, Vlatko Sajkoski, and Saso Srcev, their prison sentences were transformed into suspended ones, that is, they will not go to prison if they don’t commit a crime in the next four years.

The case concerns alleged election irregularities during the 2013 local elections.
