At Wednesday’s hearing in the trial over the 2023 kidnapping and murder of teenager Vanja Gjorcevska and Pance Zezovski, lawyer Vasko Stojkov, who’s part of Right, the party formerly led by Ljupco Palevski, said the principal defendant had told him he had been followed and would be set up.
According to Stojkov, Palevski also said that that wouldn’t be the first time and that he had been caught by a camera part of the Safe City system. Stojkov, who took Palevski to Belgrade on 30 November, talked to him by phone several times. The witness also stated that the principal defendant had informed him that he’d come to Turkiye, too.
The witness, upon police instructions, asked Palevski where he’d been on the day of Gjorcevska’s kidnapping. First, according to Stojkov, he said he didn’t know, that is, he was only sure that he’d been to a bank. Asked whether he had been moving in the Debar Maalo settlement, the principal defendant, according to the witness, said that he didn’t remember, that he might have been to a coffee place there, and that he’d also might have gone to Gluvo, where his mother lived, to get some money.
