Environment Minister Kaja Sukova revealed at a press conference that the Greek company Archirodon did not prolong the bank guarantee for the tender for the Cebren power plant, which resulted with termination of the public call for its construction.
“Archirodon did not prolong the bank guarantee for after 31 December 2023. We analysed the situation and inspected all possibilities in relation with the tender documentation and the relevant laws. The Environment Ministry will now notify the government that the public call will be annulled. The company notified us that there are conditions in the tender that compromise the sustainability of the project, which did not provide solid grounds for securing funds from banks for the project. Having all this in mind, we have to conclude that the 14 th tender for the Cebren project has failed too,” Sukova said.
