Taravari Files Resignation as Health Minister to PM Mickoski

Arben Taravari has filed his resignation as Health Minister to PM Hristijan Mickoski. He will be able to officially leave the post on Tuesday, when a session will be held in Parliament. Prior to that, the PM will need to receive the resignation and forward it to the legislative house.

Taravari may explain his decision to resign, though he is not legally obliged to do so. MPs will not discuss it, that is, it will be accepted right away, Sitel reported on Thursday.

However, despite Taravari’s personal announcement that he was leaving the coalition, Deputy PM for Good Governance Arben Fetai, who’s part of his Alliance for Albanians’ wing, has so far not followed suit. That, according to Deputy PM Izet Mexhiti, who’s part of VLEN, proves that Taravari’s wing is falling apart.

At a legislative house level, nine MPs part of Mexhiti’s Democratic Movement, Bilall Kasami’s Besa, Zeqirja Ibrahimi’s Alternative, and the Self-Determination Movement, are now becoming part of a single Parliamentary Group of VLEN, as a party.

The request has already been submitted to Speaker Afrim Gashi. Bekim Qoku will be the Coordinator. The list, so far, hasn’t included any MP from Taravari’s wing, though Gashi said there’d been an offer for them to join.
