The hearing in the trial over the Teodora Ristovska case has again been postponed. On Thursday, the Court in Tetovo was notified that the defendant, Mensur Pajaziti, was receiving treatment in a hospital. However, the Ristovski’s lawyer said she would be checking whether that was really the case.
According to the charge, 22-year-old Ristovska was killed when she was run over in Tetovo by a BMW being driven by Pajaziti. In November 2023, Pajaziti was sentenced by the Tetovo Court to 3.5 years behind bars. However, he filed an appeal, which resulted in the Gostivar Court of Appeals reducing the sentence to two years in prison.
However, he wasn’t imprisoned because the Supreme Court accepted his request for extraordinary re-examination of the verdict and then overturned the two verdicts by the lower courts.
