TM Presents Report on National System of Integrity

The office of Transparency Macedonia (TM) presented the latest report about the National system of integrity of North Macedonia.

In this report, which evaluates 15 different areas based on integrity, accountability, responsibility and preparedness to tackle corruption, the institutions with the best scores are the State Audit Office, the State Commission for Prevention of Corruption (SCPC) and the Office of the Ombudsman, while on the other side of the spectrum, with lowest scores, are the Public Prosecutor’s Office (PPO), as well as other judicial organs and organs responsible for implementation of laws.

The results of this research for 2023 are not much different from those from 2022, and what is alarming that in some areas we have even worse results compared to the report from 2016. The institutions that tend to be more independent show better results, but unfortunately are very much underestimated in this society. It is always good to accept criticism from outside, but having in mind the recent events, maybe even that is not enough, for the people no longer react even to the statements of foreign ambassadors,” said TM President Slagjana Taseva.
