According to caretaker Interior Minister Pance Toskovski, passports containing North Macedonia’s previous constitutional name are being used in Germany, Switzerland, Albania, and Kosovo, while it is embarrassing that they are not valid domestically.
As he reiterated on Monday, the solution lies in Parliament, that is, MPs should make legal changes in line with the example of the changes to the legislation to extend the validity of driving licences.
“I call on MPs to pass the draft-law I submitted the same day as the driving licences legislation changes,” Toskovski noted.
In the frames of its activities on the initiatives concerning the documents, the Constitutional Court has asked for opinions from the Government and Parliament.
