Trial against Merko over Audi Procurement Continues

Wednesday’s hearing in the trial against blacklisted Struga Mayor Ramiz Merko concerning the procurement of the Audi A6 worth around 72,000 dollars, the Basic Court didn’t accept the proposal for an expiration of the statute of limitations.

Nade Bojadzievska, a witness for Merko’s defence, who works at the State Audit Office, said she fully adhered to what she’d written in the report according to which the procurement of the vehicle was lawful. In the case, the statute of limitations expires in 2028.

The same day, the hearing against the blacklisted Mayor over the controversial sign on the Struga Municipality’s building reading “Bitola Congress Primary School – 1 September 1941” was postponed for health reasons related to the prosecutor.
