The trial over the May 8 murder of Turkish citizen Enes Ozdemir in Shtip has started.
At the first hearing, prosecutors stated that the audacious murder, committed by Kadir Kara, had been planned, organized, premeditated, while there had been logistical support from the other four people charged in the process as well.
The Prosecutor’s Office said there would be evidence indicating that the weapon had been previously obtained in Skopje, the meeting at the coffee place had been planned, while an escape plan had been devised as well.
On the other hand, the defense said it would present evidence that would prove it was about manslaughter and self-defense. Part of the five defendants have prior charges and verdicts in relation to murder and illegal possession in Turkiye. Two of the five had entered North Macedonia by using a fake identity. All five defendants are Turkish citizens as well.
