In an interview with Alsat, US Ambassador Angela Aggeler says she’s received assurances from the Government that the Corridors contract with Bechtel ENKA will not be terminated.
Regarding the comments by PM Hristijan Mickoski comments regarding the judiciary that “it’s somehow become practice for ambassadors to interfere in internal affairs in the country”, she points out she hopes the PM wasn’t referring to her, adding that the goal of her country is to support North Macedonia not interfere in its internal matters.
Regarding the issue of the country’s constitutional name, she points out that the US has made it clear international agreements must be respected in order for the country to move forward.
In the Ambassador’s view, the debate on the use or non-use of the country’s constitutional name is a distraction from matters that are important to voters.
