Ex-Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs Kocho Angjusev has been designated for “significant corruption”, US State Department Spokesperson Matthew Miller said on Tuesday.
“The United States is designating Koco Angjusev, a former Deputy Prime Minister of North Macedonia, as generally ineligible for entry into the United States, due to his involvement in significant corruption. While serving as Deputy Prime Minister, Angjusev abused his official position to benefit his private business interests, undermining the confidence of North Macedonia’s public in their government institutions and public processes.,” a press statement reads.
Angjusev stated he would appeal the decision.
