US Watching Very Closely Procedures Related to Judicial Council Motions, MEP Waitz, too, Voices Stand

Asked about events in the judiciary, on Thursday, US Ambassador Angela Aggeler said all processes related to the successful no-confidence motions against Judicial Council members Vesna Dameva, Selim Ademi, Tanja Cacarova-Ilievska, Milazim Mustafa, and Pavlina Crvenkovska had to be in line with the law and that her country was very closely following matters.

“We’re watching very closely the procedures in Parliament, as well as their statements. And, as with any of these cases, what is critically important is that the law is followed and it is followed in a way that is clear and transparent to all those observing it”, she pointed out.

The same day, Austrian MEP Thomas Waitz, who’s the Rapporteur on North Macedonia, reacted to the ruling coalition’s pressure on the Council members to resign or be dismissed on the basis of, as he pointed out, their alleged political affiliation, Nezavisen reported.

“This call by the Government is a concerning sign of political interference in the judiciary”, he pointed out.
