The principal suspect in the murders of Vanja Gjorceska and Pance Zezovski, Ljupco Palevski, will have a duty lawyer, whose first task is to appeal the extradition detention measure during the decision-making procedure. The possibility of Palevski seeking asylum isn’t being ruled out.
The person who drove Palevski from Belgrade to Turkiye, Stefan Dimkovski, has been charged. According to PM Dimitar Kovacevski, institutions had tolerated the suspects’ previous criminal and misdemeanour activities.
VMRO- DPMNE leader Hristijan Mickoski considers that the tragedy is a result of “impunity”, but also of the system’s irresponsibility and dysfunctionality. Sources from the investigation told 24 TV that Gjorcevska had been tied up and put in a sleeping bag in her building’s basement.
On Saturday, Justice Minister Lloga said he expected Turkiye to put into procedure as of Monday all documents concerning the extradition process.
