Video Showing 2001 Conflict Footage Deleted, Reactions Continue

The video showing 2001 conflict footage and DUI leader Ali Ahmeti wearing a NLA uniform was deleted on Friday.

According to the party, it was not behind the video, that is, it was being spontaneously shared by party activities. The posting and deletion of the video coincided with outgoing US President Joe Biden’s new Executive Order concerning additional steps with respect to the situation in the Western Balkans. MP Rina Ajdari said the video didn’t represent a provocation, that is, it was part of Ahmeti’s biography.

“There is no need to ask, ‘Why exactly now?’ What should be known and talked about publicly is that it is a reality, it is the biography of our leader, Ali Ahmeti. That cannot be disputed”, she noted.

On the other hand, Interior Minister Pance Toskovski said the video was only an attempt to divert attention from reality, adding that everyone who had broken the law would be required to face justice.

On the other hand, SDSM’s stand is that the video issue is part of “intentional ethnic provocations that are part of the strategy of both VMRO-DPMNE and DUI”.
