VLEN said on Saturday it was forming an academy of science and art for ethnic Albanians.
“In accordance with our unshakable commitment to impel the development and progress of the Albanians’ national awareness in science, art, and intellectualism, we are glad to announce the start of the process to institutionalise the Academy of Albanians for Science and Art in North Macedonia,” the coalition said on Saturday.
The project started in Tetovo, but the official formation will be in Skopje. On Sunday, ZNAM leader Maksim Dimitrievski said “such attempts and ideas” were a result of post-election populism.
“In Macedonia, the Macedonian Academy of Sciences and Arts exists as the only Academy that belongs to all. No parallelism is allowed,” he stated, urging VLEN to focus on creating a better life for all citizens and fighting crime and corruption.
DUI’s stand is that VLEN is carrying out the activities in an attempt to show some results and “stop the freefall that is humiliating the nation.” Criticism came also from VMRO-DPMNE.
