VLEN’s Taravari Comments on Balancer and Law on Languages Issue

VLEN co-leader Arben Taravari says that the initiatives regarding the Balancer tool and Law on Languages have been present at the Constitutional Court for five years, adding that the institution shouldn’t have taken action over the topics now.

“Generally speaking, we’re aligned and have said that an equitable representation law is needed not just in relation to ethnic communities, but rather equitable representation of all categories living in the country. So, we will try to cover the removal of the Balancer tool with a law,” he notes.

According to Taravari, all parties are aware of the tool’s misuse. The ruling majority will find a solution, he points out, enabling members of all communities to be represented within institutions.

As far as the issue of VLEN’s structure is concerned, he says a decision on whether the four parties will merge into one will be made after the 2025 local elections.
