On Thursday, VMRO-DPMNE filed the announced criminal charge against ex-Interior Minister Oliver Spasovski over the personal documents problem.
“From 12 February 2019 to mid-2021, he, consciously and directly, running the Ministry, which in facts issues these documents, harmed tens of thousands of citizens,” VMRO-DPMNE MP and Executive Committee member Igor Janusev said, adding that citizens had faced both material and non-material harm.
The party expects the Public Prosecutor’s Office to open an investigation against the ex-Minister. Though two days have passed since the Government made the decision for driving licences and vehicle registration certificates containing the new constitutional name to be free of charge, citizens are still paying around 1,100 denars for the certificates.
The Interior Ministry said that decision would enter into force once it was published in the Official Gazette. However, it is unclear why that hasn’t been done.
