VMRO-DPMNE Mickoski: 61 MPs Consolidated

Asked on Thursday whether he had enough MPs to form the government, VMRO-DPMNE leader Hristijan Mickoski, said 61 MPs had been consolidated. He also added that talks with potential coalition partners, such as VLEN, were continuing.

“I can say that VMRO-DPMNE and its coalition, Your Macedonia, are finishing talks with several MPs that are not part of Your Macedonia. As of now, we have successfully consolidated 61 MPs. I cannot go into details, but very soon, you will find out details, considering the situation is sensitive,” the VMRO-DPMNE leader stressed.

Mickoski is optimistic that a two-thirds majority will be consolidated in Parliament together with the coalition partners.

Earlier that day, the VMRO-DPMNE and VLEN working groups had held a meeting. Before the start, Azir Aliu of the Alliance for Albanians wing headed by Arben Taravari stated that there would be a discussion on the groups’ methodology and dynamism of work.

“Most likely, starting from the next meeting, the more concrete talks, including staff decisions, will begin,” he stated.
