Judge Xhemali Saiti will as of 13 March be the Acting President of the Supreme Court.
The decision was made at Monday’s session of the Judicial Council. The procedure to elect the new, full-time, head of the institution is at the final stage. They are expected to be elected at some of the future sessions.
The two candidates in the race are the current President, Besa Ademi, and Judge Afrim Fidani. When it comes to Judicial Council members Vesna Dameva, Selim Ademi, Tanja Cacarova-Ilievska, Milazim Mustafa, and Pavlina Crvenkovska, they haven’t decided whether they will attend the Tuesday (11) March session of Parliament over the no-confidence motions against them.
