Zulqufli Nuredini Case: 17 Idrizovo Police Officers Detained and Charged

17 Idrizovo prison police officers have been detained, charged, and taken before a judge.

The arrests took place on Monday morning, following a multiple-month investigation. For five of them, there is reasonable suspicion that in October of last year, in a premeditated manner, they enabled a prisoner, Zulqufli Nuredini from Batinci, to escape.

One is suspected of helping the others, whereas the remaining 11 are suspected of committing, from 19 to 26 October, the extended crime of Illegal freeing of a person deprived of freedom.

For six suspects, a detention measure proposal has been issued, while measures of precaution have been proposed for the other 11. For the crimes, prison sentences ranging from one to 10 years are foreseen.
