US State Secretary Pompeo Urges French FM to Support Macedonia

In a phone call with French Foreign Minister Jean-Yves Le Drian, US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo urged expressed support for Macedonia’s NATO and EU road. “Secretary Pompeo urged French Foreign Minister Le Drian to support NATO extending an invitation to Macedonia to join, as well as the EU opening accession talks, following the signing of the name agreement between Greece and Macedonia. Secretary Pompeo and Foreign Minister Le Drian had a productive discussion on the way forward on Syria. Foreign Minister Le Drian also appreciated receiving an update on the outcome of the Singapore Summit,” the State Department said in a press-release on Saturday.
