PS Xhaferi: Western Balkans Looking Less and Less Like Powder Keg

“The Western Balkans are looking less and less like a powder keg. We have a clear European perspective,” PS Talat Xhaferi said on Monday, within the frameworks of the annual meeting of Parliamentary Defence and Security Committees from Southeast Europe countries. He expects President Gjorge Ivanov to respect the Constitution and parliamentary democracy so that the name agreement with Greece is implemented. Defence Minister Radmila Sekerinska is of the opinion that the next two weeks will be key for Macedonia. RACVIAC – Centre for Security Cooperation Director Haydar Berk said countries from the region were faced with security challenges such as terrorism, violent extremism and uncontrolled migration. The meeting is supported by the Geneva Centre for the Democratic Control of Armed Forces and the OSCE.
